Speaking of National Condom Week, why not make a film about them? (And maybe win a prize.)

Attention all artsy, video-making types: it’s not too late to help demystify the female/internal condom by making a cool/funny “Female Condoms Are_______” video. If you submit your video by March 1, you could win some $$$cashmoney$$$ in addition to contributing your artsiness to a worthy cause.

Is that candy in your pocket.. or are you just happy to see me?

This may be the greatest day of all. 1) It’s the day after Halloween (can you say 75% off candy?!) and 2) only one more day until Bedsider ATX will be at FunFunFun Fest!

Last week we told you about the photo contest Bedsider ATX was having—the prize was two tickets to FFFFest.  The rules were simple—grab one of the suggestive Bedsider stickers, take a picture of it doing something (in)appropriately suggestive, and post it to the Bedsider ATX Facebook page.  Many photos were submitted, but one prevailed… *drumroll please*… Congratulations to Bradley Short for this gem:

Remember, if you were not our lucky winner, it isn’t too late to snag your ticket for the festival!

Speaking of the festival, Bedsider ATX will be there all weekend passing out free condoms, popsicles, t-shirts and more. Swing by our ice cream truck—we kind of pulled out all the stops for this one—to sign up for all things Bedsider, learn anything and everything you ever wanted to know about birth control, and grab some free swag.

Huge shout out to our friends at Sir Richard’s and Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas for all these goodies we’ll be dishing out this weekend!

And whether or not you will be joining in on the FFFFest fun this weekend, you should definitely check out these artists:

#1 The Head and the Heart. I first heard them at Lollapalooza in August and they have quickly made their way to the Top 25 on my iPod.

#2 My guilty pleasure: Anamanaguchi.  This band sounds vaguely like the background music of Mario Kart, but in the greatest way possible.

#3 And last but not least, Girl Talk.  Gregg Gillis has an amazing way of taking well known songs and mashing them together into one seamless, mosh-able tune.

So stay safe during Halloweekend Part II—because remember, the full moon can make people do crazy things.

Hey, That Looks Like a… (Austin Edition)

“Wait…  is that a…  no, it can’t be.”

Indeed it is, my friends. In the world of all things Bedsider, you have to let your mind slip into the gutter every now and then. For example, Bedsider ATX’s new contest, which unites suggestive stickers with the creative minds of fine people like you. We have these stickers around Austin and we want you to grab one, take a picture of it somewhere weird, and post it to the Bedsider ATX Facebook Page.  After we have a good laugh in the office looking at all these pictures, we will give a pair of FunFunFun Fest tickets to the person with the photo we deem most rad.

Here are some examples—and I know that y’all can come up with something way better since I just took these in my apartment while I was writing this post.  I will also be venturing around Austin today, putting the stickers in obscure places—so stop by FB later for your daily dose of humor.

You can pick up a sticker at Bennu Coffee, Rio Rita, Red 7, Mohawk, Hole in the Wall, Spider House, or Caffe Medici. If you can’t get your hands on one, shoot an email to atx@bedsider.org and we will make sure you get one!

The contest ends next Wednesday, so you have about a week to put your sexy/weird thinking cap on.  If you’re not in Austin or hate stickers (speaking of weird), you can also just buy FFFFest tickets online. And you definitely do not want to miss out. The music will be amazing, and Bedsider ATX will be there with a real live ice cream truck (seriously, an ice cream truck) and enough condoms and popsicles to quench all of your physical and metaphorical thirsts.

  • undress success? um, no.

In conclusion, vote early, vote often, and if you do vote, please let your friends know by reblogging this post and sharing through other social media channels. It could really make a difference!

Love Your Birth Control? Tell Me About It…

Bedsider wants to know what you love about your birth control. And if you’re 18 to 24, live in the U.S., and use the IUD, the implant, the ring, the patch or the shot, you could end up with $1000 ($2000 if you get your guy involved) or a 64G iPad to show for it. Not too shabby, right?

We’re teaming up with ISIS to sponsor the “Works Like a Charm” contest—the idea is to get the word out about some great methods of birth control that might not be so well-known. So whether you’re up for entering the contest, viewing the contest gallery and voting for your favorite entry, or supporting the contest more broadly, we hope you’ll help yourself to this super-cute “i ♥ my birth control” twibbon and help us spread the word!

Everyone should have the life they want, when they want it. And until someone is ready to have a baby, we believe they should have access to birth control.

That’s where we come in.

Bedsider makes birth control easier. How? By giving you everything you need to find it, get it, and use it well.

On Tumblr, we hope to keep you informed and entertained as we explore everything from sex, tech, culture, and politics to health and the most effective methods out there.
